In Memory of
Barbara LeFevre passed away on Friday, August 10, 1:20 am - 4 days after her 94th birthday. Barbara was instrumental in founding the Schutzhund Club of Orlando and was a driving force for many years, not only in that club, but in our sport - always holding us to the highest standards. She will be remembered as a Schutzhund enthusiast in the truest sense. Barbara drew a lot of attention and admiration while trialing, and titling, her Min Pins, Great Dane and Chihuahua. She frequently remarked "My dogs don't just sit on the porch!" For those fortunate enough to have been involved at the time, Barbara was also known for her parties at her Bar-Bar-A Ranch in St. Cloud, particularly at Christmas time. Barbara was an excellent host and made all feel welcome at her home and at SCO - once you passed muster, that is. Barbara did not suffer fools gladly, and "incorrect behavior" was swiftly addressed. Barbara spent her final years in a health care center in Anderson, SC, near the home of her son, Scott Finley. He said his mother was true Barbara to the end, all but running the facility from her wheelchair - and rarely missing an opportunity to pinch her doctor on the behind. Scott had suggested, and Barbara agreed, that some of her ashes be scattered at the SCO training facility where some of her fondest memories lie, and where she formed friendships with members throughout the region and country. |
