Renewal
Time from your KG Secretary
Lisa reminds everyone that the 2008 renewal packets
are being mailed out.
Club secretaries should be on the look-out for them very soon.
Any club NOT renewing for '08 needs to contact Lisa as soon as possible.
Deadline is August 31, 2007
From the DVG America
website:
Why
do we have to renew for the next year's membership so early in the year?
Mostly, this is the fault of those clubs in the past which decided to
disband and neglected to notify anyone of that fact. Germany must be
notified of all club cancellations by the end of September, or they
will automatically renew those clubs and the LV and KG's end up paying
dues for those ex-members who have gone merrily on their way. In order
to prevent this, most of the KG's require that clubs show proof of renewal
by having all renewals and new memberships for the coming year turned
in by mid-September. You must understand, also, that there is a lot
of processing time needed by the regional membership officers as well
as our LV Treasurer. Germany doesn't have to have the information (except
for canceled clubs) until much later in the year, but it takes a great
deal of time for the LV Treasurer to process a 1,000 odd memberships,
cancellations, etc., and make sure they're all correct before sending
them on to Germany.
Midwest KG members,
Connie Palmer and Scott White have just been invited to compete at the
DVG Bundeseigerprufund (BSP) (the annual DVG Championship). They will
be joining the team of Joanne Fleming and Sue Nesbitt who automatically
were in the competition because they placed first and second at our
nationals. For additional information see the BillBoard on the DVGAmerica
website at: http://www.dvgamerica.com/billbrd.html
The cost of the trips to Germany is quite expensive and especially for
Connie and Scott who could not book their arrangements until July 30th.
It was determined that the best way for both clubs and individuals to
contribute financial support, was to have the donations sent directly
to each competitor. There is no contribution too small, collectively
they all add up. This is a very strong team that we are sending this
year; our fourth place winner's score actually beat some first place
winners in other LV's). These four dog/handler pairs are "Our"
DVG America team!
For donations, the contact information for each of our Team Members
is:
Joanne Fleming:
7933 Hwy #26, RR #2 Stayner, ONT L0M 1S0 Canada
Sue Nesbitt: RR #4 Waterford, ONT N0E 1Y0
Connie Palmer: 7218 Westmoreland St. Louis, Mo 63130
Scott White: 1402 Leyton Drive Youngstown OH 44509
Bill and Dyan Harper
are also going over to Germany and will try to keep everyone up on the
news.
AWDF is looking for an alternate(s) for the team members. The team
has been chosen, but there are presently no alternates listed. And we
all know dogs get hurt, people get hurt, etc, so they're looking for
someone (or perhaps a couple) interested in being an alternate.
If anyone is interested in putting his/her name in the hat as an alternate,
have them contact Albert Govednik algovfh@yahoo.com
If an alternate is necessary and is invited to join the team, he or
she will have to pay personal travel costs."
If anyone is interested, you might visit the AWDF web site at http://www.awdf.net
There is information about the FCI team, if you scroll down on the home
page.
