SEKG OFFICERS, 2008

TRIPLE CROWN - TOM SPIVEY AWARD

Time is running out to qualify for the Triple Crown competition for the coveted Spivey Award.

The Tom Spivey Memorial Award is presented to the SEKG member with the highest total scores in three separate trials, one of which must be an "away" trial and one of which must be the SEKG Championship. The purpose of the Award is to reward excellence and hard work and to encourage all members of the SEKG to compete in more than just their own backyard. It promotes the spirit of the sport that Tom Spivey believed in. Tom was one of the strongest supporters of the organization of DVG and of the sport of Schutzhund. Tom served as the SEKG's OfS for many years and as club President and Training Director for many more. Countless helpers and handlers benefited from Tom's experience and enthusiasm.

~ Any level, 1, 2, or 3 is eligible

~ Competitor must trial the same dog is 3 different SEKG trials

When an animal has feelings that are delicate and refined, and when they can be further perfected by education, then it becomes worthy of joining human society. To the highest degree, the dog has all these qualities that merit human attention.
